FAQ
Can | use it to watch movies and play video games?
No, Supernote is not an “All-in-one” tablet computer and is not designed for everyone. It is intentionally designed to write and read to fuel creative thinking, nothing else. We recommend considering the iPad as an alternative.
Why is it more expensive?
In a world drowning in low-cost alternatives, a meticulously crafted product truly shines. Behold, the ultimate champion that hits the sweet spot of usability VS simplicity on the market. A deceivingly minimalist exterior belies its rich, purpose-driven productivity features designed just for you.
Why no front/back light?
In order to achieve an optimal handwriting experience, a compromise is necessary. Unlike other tablets, Supernote avoids adding a front light due to its slim pen nib design. Supernote’s pens feature an ultra-fine 0.7 mm (diameter) nib, and incorporating a front light (light plate layer) would result in a thicker device, causing the nib to feel more distant from the screen during writing. This decision not only enhances the writing experience, but also prolongs battery life, allowing for increased productivity between charging sessions.
Why no color?
This involves trade-offs against the best handwriting experience. Sadly, we are not taking the plunge into color ink technology until it is further developed since the present color ink screen has low reflectivity which causes a dim display, poor color differentiation, and the need for a front light, which also has an effect on the handwriting experience. For the optimum handwriting experience, we must make a compromise.
What formats does supernote support?
Supernote Nomad, A5 X and A6 X currently support Note (.note), PDF, EPUB, Word, Text (.txt), PNG, JPG, WebP, Comic book archive (.cbz), FictionBook2 (.fb2) and OpenXPS (.xps) formats, and integrate with Kindle app which supports MOBI and other formats.
Is it suitable for left handed people?
The device’s user interface thoughtfully accommodates left-handed individuals, allowing for toolbar position adjustments. Additionally, gesture controls can be deactivated to prevent unintentional page-turning during writing.
